My love of painting is directly related to the support I received from my parents. My father, a naval architect was a watercolorist by hobby who never wavered from creating marine scenes with wonderful composition and a sensitivity to values. I stared at his paintings from an early age not realizing the influence this would have on me. My mother had a wonderful color sense whether she was dressing or decorating our home. She had a flair for design with the ability to walk into a room and immediately know how to create symmetry with a keen eye. These attributes are reflected in my work. Design, color, composition.
